About

Ana Ozdoba, MD, is Director, Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program at Montefiore and Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Ozdoba’s clinical interests include psychodynamic psychotherapy and cultural psychiatry. She also has an interest in resident education and curriculum development as well as quality improvement and patient safety.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts from University of Michigan in 1999, Dr. Ozdoba pursued her medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine, earning it in 2003. She selected Montefiore-Einstein for her postgraduate training, completing a four-year residency in psychiatry in 2007, acting as chief resident in her final year, followed by a yearlong fellowship in administrative adult psychiatry, which she completed in 2008.

Dr. Ozdoba’s research focus includes academic psychiatry as well as curriculum development and evaluation of residents’ competency. She investigates quality improvement projects, including the assessment of violence in an outpatient setting and development of better hand-off systems in psychiatry training. She has shared her research findings through conferences, poster presentations and peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Ozdoba has twice received the Excellence in Teaching award at Einstein. She is board certified and is a member of several professional societies including the Society for the Study of Psychiatry and Culture, and the American Association of Directors of Psychiatry Residency Training (AADPRT).
