Meir H. Scheinfeld, MD, PhD

Meir H. Scheinfield, MD, PhD is an Emergency Radiologist at Montefiore and an Associate Professor of Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During his time at Montefiore, his clinical focus has been on all areas of emergency imaging studies, with particular interests in imaging head and neck trauma, pelvic trauma, and nontraumatic abdominal pain.

Dr. Scheinfield received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University. He then received his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where his doctoral work focused on the biochemistry and cell biology of Alzheimer's disease. His postgraduate training began with a 1-year internship in internal medicine at Staten Island University Hospital, followed by a residency in radiology at Montefiore. After completing a fellowship in emergency radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, he returned to Montefiore to lead the Montefiore Emergency Radiology division.

Dr. Scheinfield's research touches on all areas of emergency radiology, with a particular interest in workflow improvement. He is also actively involved in medical student monitoring and resident education. Dr. Scheinfield's library of published work discusses a number of topics, ranging from workflow-integrated quality improvement tools to the causes of pneumocephalus.

Dr. Scheinfield is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
