William L. Davis, MD

William L. Davis , Jr., MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Davis’s clinical focus centers on orthopedic injuries and conditions, with a particular focus on problems of the knee and shoulder.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in biology at the State University of New York at Albany in 1985, Dr. Davis earned his Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1993. He completed a surgical internship at Case Western Reserve University in 1994, followed by his orthopedics residency at the same institution in 1998. Dr. Davis then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Connecticut in 1999.

Dr. Davis’s research aligns with his clinical expertise, focusing on topics such as athletes with anterior knee pain and the effect of ankle and knee position on tension in the Achilles tendon. His work has been shared through peer-reviewed publications such as Foot & Ankle International. He has also presented his work at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.

Dr. Davis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Rockland County Medical Society and the Charles Herndon Society. Dr. Davis was named in Hudson Valley’s “Top Doctors for Orthopaedic Surgery” for multiple years. He was named in “America’s Most Honored Doctors - Top 1%” by The American Registry from 2018 to 2023 and was named a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly from 2013 to 2024.
