About

Jimmy S. Lee, MD, PhD, FRCPC, is an Attending Radiologist at Montefiore, as well as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is diagnostic neuroradiology and head and neck radiology. He joined Montefiore in 2016.

Dr. Lee graduated from McGill University in 1997, receiving first-class honors Bachelor of Science. He then completed a combined Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy program at the University of British Columbia, earning his PhD in Experimental Pathology.  Dr. Lee pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship with the MS/MRI Research Group at the University of British Columbia. After completing an internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Dr. Lee went on to complete a radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Lee practiced as a neuroradiologist and emergency/trauma radiologist at Vancouver General Hospital from 2014 to 2016.   Dr. Lee’s research focus has been on demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD).  In 2015, he won the Best Viewscreen Teacher Award from the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiology.  He is currently the director of functional MRI at Montefiore Medical Center.  He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with Subspecialty Certificate in Neuroradiology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
