Shira Y. Wieder, MD

Shira Y. Wieder, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Dermatology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Wieder’s clinical focus centers on treating psoriasis. She seeks to provide personalized and leading-edge care to all her patients. Her other interests include treating acne, rosacea, skin cancer and all other dermatologic concerns for patients of all ages.

After earning her Doctor of Medicine at Montefiore Einstein in 2015, Dr. Wieder completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Northwell Health – Northshore Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 2016. She then completed her dermatology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2019, where she was Chief Resident in her final year.

Dr. Wieder’s basic science research focuses on cell death proteins involved in the development of melanoma. Her work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications as well as abstracts, presentations and posters. She is also a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
