Daisy Berisha, OD

Daisy Berisha, OD, is an attending optometrist at Montefiore Einstein and Instructor, Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Berisha’s clinical focus centers on primary eye care and ocular disease, including diabetic eye examinations, glaucoma screenings and treatments, anterior segment disease and pediatric eye examinations for children aged 5 and up.

In 2015, Dr. Bersha received her Bachelor of Arts from Macaulay Honors College at Lehman College, City University of New York. She then pursued her medical education at Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, earning her Doctor of Optometry in 2019. She completed her optometry residency at VA NY Harbor Healthcare System in 2020.

Dr. Berisha’s research focuses on dry eye disease, the screening and management of glaucoma and diabetic eye disease and the identification of the ideal corrective eyewear for each patient. She also has a special interest in using modalities and lifestyle modifications to treat myopia, or nearsightedness, in children. She has shared her work through poster presentations.
