María Fernanda Gómez, M.D. is Associate Director of Psychosomatic Medicine, Associate Director of Residency Training, and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Gómez received her medical degree from the University of Salamanca, Spain and completed her residency at New York Medical College/Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. She was awarded the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology fellowship and the Linda Pollin Foundation Fellowship in Medical Crisis Counseling during her fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is the recipient of the American Psychiatric Association Nancy C. A. Roske, M.D. Certificate of Excellence in Medical Student Education.  She has successfully completed multiple subspecialty board certifications, including Psychosomatic Medicine, Geriatric, Addiction, and Forensic psychiatry and is one of the very few psychiatrists to be certified in Pain Medicine.
