Fabiola Aguilera Galviz, MD, is Associate Program Director, Plastic Surgery Residency at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Fabiola Aguilera Galviz is a highly skilled plastic surgeon, deeply committed to delivering exceptional care. Her specialties include aesthetic and reconstructive procedures, as well as hand surgery. Dr. Aguilera’s extensive training, combined with her compassionate approach, ensures that every patient receives personalized care. Dr. Aguilera Galviz earned her Doctor of Medicine at the Universidad Católica Boliviana “San Pablo" in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Through an exceptional program, she completed all her clinical rotations as a medical student at the prestigious Université de Strasbourg in France. Following this, she undertook a clinical research fellowship focused on minimally invasive and robotic surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Aguilera Galviz completed her general surgery residency at BronxCare Health System, affiliated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She then completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the distinguished Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, followed by a plastic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Aguilera Galviz’s research concentrates on reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery and hand surgery. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in the surgical field and presented her work through various oral podium presentations and grand rounds, demonstrating her expertise and commitment to advancing medical knowledge.

She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society of Hand Surgeons (ASSH), the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). She is fluent in Spanish, French, and German and proficient in Italian.
