About
Dr. Claudiu Diaconu is a board-certified neurologist at White Plains Hospital specializing in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and other brain/spinal cord demyelinating disorders. His research experience includes both basic science and clinical studies. In addition to demyelinating conditions, Dr. Diaconu treats other general neurological conditions, including headaches and dementia. Dr. Diaconu does not treat brain infections, Lyme disease, autoimmune encephalitis, or autoimmune/immunologic disease of the muscles, joints or nerves.
Dr. Diaconu earned his medical degree with special qualifications in biomedical research from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by a neurology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University and a fellowship in multiple sclerosis at Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Diaconu is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Medical Association, and the New York State Neurological Society. His research has been published in Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders, Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, and the The FASEB Journal.
He speaks English and Romanian.
