About

Anthony Marte, MD, is Associate Residency Program Director, Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Marte’s clinical focus centers on cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, traditional glaucoma surgery and anterior segment laser.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in biology from Boston College in 2014, Dr. Marte earned his Doctor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine in 2019. Following this, he completed an internship in medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2020, followed by his ophthalmology residency at the same institution in 2023, where he was Chief Resident. In 2024, Dr. Marte completed a glaucoma fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear.

Dr. Marte’s research focuses on open-angle glaucoma, glaucoma surgery and ophthalmology trainee education. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed publications and shared through a surgical video presentation.

In 2025, Dr. Marte received the Ophthalmology Attending of the Year Award from Montefiore Einstein.
