About

Shantanu Rastogi, MD, is Unified Division Director, Neonatology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Rastogi’s clinical focus centers on neonatal pulmonary morbidities, non-invasive ventilation, acute kidney injury and neonatal outcomes associated with maternal medical conditions. After earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at King George’s Medical College in India in 1988, Dr. Rastogi completed his pediatric residency and earned his Doctor of Medicine in pediatrics in 1992. He then moved to the United States to continue his medical training, completing his residency in pediatrics at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University at Brooklyn in 1995, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the Children’s Hospital of New York, College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University in 1999. Following this, Dr. Rastogi earned his Master of Medical Management at Carnegie Mellon University in 2009. Dr. Rastogi’s research focuses on pulmonary diseases and non-invasive ventilation for preterm neonates, as well as short and long-term neonatal morbidities related to maternal medical conditions. He has been principal site investigator on several research projects and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed original papers, reviews and book chapters. Dr. Rastogi has given national and international presentations and is Associate Editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology. He is also a reviewer for scientific journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Pediatrics, Pediatrics and the Journal of Perinatology. Dr. Rastogi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics with a subspecialty certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Administrative Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Rastogi is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and the American College of Physician Executives.
