Marissa Theofanides, MD

Marissa Theofanides, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Urology at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr. Theofanides specializes in minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic enlargement, kidney stones, male and female sexual health, no-scalpel vasectomy and a wide range of general urologic and voiding conditions.

After completing her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and pre-medicine at New York University in 2007, Dr. Theofanides attended Weill Cornell Medical College, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2012. She pursued her postdoctoral training at Columbia Presbyterian, completing her urology residency in 2018.

Dr. Theofanides’ research focuses on quality improvement in medicine and antibiotic stewardship. She also has a strong interest in integrative medicine concepts and their applications to urologic conditions. Her work has been shared through peer-reviewed journals and reports.

Dr. Theofanides is board certified by the American Board of Urology. She is affiliated with the American Urologic Association and the American Association of Physician Leadership.
