Ilyssa A. Henle, MD

Ilyssa Henle, MD, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Henle’s clinical focus is on newborn care, early recognition and treatment of sepsis and family-centered patient education. She is passionate about supporting families and improving care through education and quality improvement.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in biopsychology and cognitive science at the University of Michigan in 2005, Dr. Henle earned her Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in 2009. She completed her pediatrics internship and residency at New York University Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital in 2012, and went on to complete a certificate in medical education at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2015.

Dr. Henle’s research focuses on quality improvement in antibiotic stewardship, discharge readiness, pediatric sepsis screening and guideline implementation. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on pediatric sepsis identification, pediatric neurologic emergencies and pediatric airway obstruction. Dr. Henle has also shared her research through abstracts and oral presentations at national conferences.

Dr. Henle is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
