Marie E. McKenzie Tola, DDS

Marie McKenzie-Tola, DDS, MPH, is an attending physician in periodontics at Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus centers on the diagnosis and treatment of the support tissues in the oral cavity.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in life sciences from Cornell University in 1984, Dr. McKenzie-Tola earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Columbia University in 1988. She then completed her general practice residency at Montefiore Einstein in 1989. Following this, Dr. McKenzie-Tola earned her Master of Public Health at Columbia University in 1992 before completing her postgraduate certificate in periodontics at the same institution in 1995.

Building on her clinical focus, Dr. McKenzie-Tola’s research involves investigating the growth behavior of the epithelial attachment of periodontally diseased teeth. Her work has been published in the National Library of Medicine.

Dr. McKenzie-Tola is a member of the Northeast Society of Periodontists.
