Beverly A. Thornhill, MD

Beverly A. Thornhill, MD, is Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology at Montefiore and an Associate Professor of Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Thornhill's clinical focus is in bone and soft tissue tumors, scoliosis, arthritis, and trauma, including sports-related injuries. She works closely with orthopedists, including orthopedic oncologists and pediatric orthopedists.

Dr. Thornhill received her Bachelor of Science in 1977 at the University of Michigan. In 1979, at the University of Michigan School of Medicine, she received her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Thornhill completed an internship in internal medicine in 1980 at the Metropolitan Hospital Center. In 1983, she completed a residency in diagnostic radiology, becoming Chief Resident in 1982, at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Thornhill’s research focuses on a range of topics regarding radiology. Her work has been published in numerous journals and book chapters and has been presented in lectures nationally.

In 2004, Dr. Thornhill received the Harold G. Jacobson Outstanding Teacher Award. She is board certified by the American Board of Radiology, and is a member of many professional societies, including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the National Medical Association Section on Radiology.
