Emily M. Buttigieg, MD

Emily Buttigieg, MD, is an attending physician and instructor in obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Buttigieg’s clinical focus is on resident education and contraceptive care.

After graduating in 2013 from the University of Michigan with her Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Buttigieg attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2017. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2021.

Dr. Buttigieg’s research focuses on resident education and postoperative pain management. She has shared her research through peer-reviewed journals and through poster presentations and oral presentations.

Dr. Buttigieg is a member of several professional societies including the Society of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
