Daniel S. Behin, MD

Daniel Shervin Behin, MD, is Program Director, Gastroenterology Fellowship Program, Assistant Professor, Medicine and Medical Director, Advanced Endoscopy Center at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical focus is in general gastroenterology which includes colon cancer screening and prevention, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, colon polyps and irritable bowel syndrome.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2004, Dr. Behin completed his internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in 2007, and was a Chief Resident for one year from 2007 to 2008. Following this, Dr. Behin completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Montefiore in 2011.

Building on his clinical focus, Dr. Behin's research focuses on quality improvement in the field of general gastroenterology. His work has been published in original communications, peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and review articles He has worked as a Clinical Abstract Reviewer for the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Behin is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In 2020, Dr. Behin was honored with receiving an Excellence in Teaching award from Einstein.
