Christoforos Koumas, MD

Dr. Christoforos Koumas is a board-certified neurologist at White Plains Hospital. He specializes in Electromyography (EMG) and Neuromuscular Diseases as well as General Neurology. He is particularly interested in the diagnosis and management of myasthenia gravis, CIDP, and peripheral nerve injuries.

Dr. Koumas earned his medical degree from the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he was nominated for the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and recognized with the Branson Sparks Humanism award as well as the Neurology Departmental award upon graduation. He then completed his internship and neurology residency at The Neurological Institute of New York, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, where he was awarded the prestigious Daniel Sciarra award for clinical excellence and humanism in patient care, as well as the Blair Ford Medical Student Teaching Award upon graduation.

Dr. Koumas then completed a fellowship in EMG/Neuromuscular disease at Columbia University Medical Center.

In addition to English, Dr. Koumas is proficient in Greek and medical Spanish.
