About
Dr. Arens Raanan is a Professor of Pediatrics at Einstein/Montefiore. He graduated from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, in Israel, in 1981. He later completed his Pediatric residency at Sheba Medical Center, Israel.Following that he pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in 1991. He joined the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, where he served as Director of the Sleep Disorders Center for 10 years. From 2005-2023, he served as the Chief of the Division of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Arens has been funded by NIH for more than 25 years. His work focuses on the pathophysiology and consequences of obstructive sleep apnea in children utilizing novel MRI methodology. Dr. Arens is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics sections of General Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research, the American Pediatric Society and the American Thoracic Society.
