Parvathi A. Myer, MD

Dr. Myer specializes in the care of hereditary gastrointestinal cancers as well as general gastroenterology. She completed her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego  and her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Stanford University. She also has a Masters of Health Science from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Dr. Myer works closely with researchers from the Montefiore/Einstein Cancer Center and the Einstein Institute for Clinical and Translational Research  to study the disparities in colorectal cancer in both sporadic and hereditary colorectal cancer. She is interested in understanding the genetic and molecular differences in colon cancer.

Previous to joining Montefiore, Dr. Myer served as an Attending Gastroenterologist at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, with clinical experience in general gastroenterology as well  as in establishing a Cancer Genetics Program to treat individuals and families who are at high risk for colon cancer.  Her goals at Montefiore are to expand universal colon cancer screening, and to develop a high risk cancer clinic.
