Taikhoom M. Dahodwala, MD

Taikhoom Dahodwala, MD, is a spine surgeon at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Orthopedic Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Dahodwala’s clinical focus centers on adult spinal deformity, complex and reconstructive spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He is also experienced in pediatric orthopedics, trauma and spinal cord injury management.

After earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the Government Medical College, Miraj, in Maharashtra, India, in 2013, Dr. Dahodwala completed his Master of Surgery in orthopedics at the Grant Government College and JJ Group of Hospitals in Mumbai, India, in 2020. He then moved to the United States to continue his medical training, completing an orthopedic trauma research fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in 2022, followed by a clinical surgical spine fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2023. Following this, Dr. Dahodwala continued his training at Montefiore Einstein, completing a clinical surgery pediatric orthopedics fellowship in 2024 and a complex and clinical surgery reconstructive spine fellowship in 2025.

Dr. Dahodwala’s research interests include surgical outcomes in spinal deformity correction, biomechanics of fusion techniques, the role of 3D printing and navigation in spine surgery and the optimization of perioperative care in complex spine patients. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed research papers and presented at national and international conferences and poster sessions.
