Hatef Massoumi, MD

Dr. Hatef Massoumi is a transplant hepatologist and System Director of Clinical Hepatology at Montefiore-Einstein, focused on advancing patient-centered liver care across the Bronx, Westchester, and surrounding communities. He completed his gastroenterology and hepatology training at New York Medical College and an advanced fellowship in hepatology and liver transplantation at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. In 2007, he played a key role in launching the liver transplant program in the Bronx, expanding access to life-saving care for an underserved community.

Dr. Massoumi’s clinical and research interests include immune-mediated liver diseases, hepatocellular carcinoma, and multidisciplinary care for advanced liver diseases. He is committed to individualized, compassionate care that integrates the latest advances with the needs and values of each patient and family.
