About

Evan Schwechter, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction, with a particular interest in complex joint replacement. Dr. Schwechter also serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Dr. Schwechter served his internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center, where he was honored with the Richard Selznick Memorial Research Award. He then completed his fellowship training in adult joint reconstructive surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Schwechter’s research is focused on periprosthetic infection, joint replacement in young adults, direct anterior hip replacement and emerging technology in arthroplasty. His research has been published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS) and the Journal of Arthroplasty (JOA), and he has presented at several national meetings. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).
