Sara C. Lederman, MD

Sara C. Lederman, MD, MPH, is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Instructor, General Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a primary care pediatrician, Dr. Lederman focuses on supporting children so they can thrive in their communities. She particularly enjoys working with adolescents and uses a strengths-based approach to behavioral health and reproductive care. She is also involved in medical education and enjoys training future leaders in health care and pediatrics.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2012, Dr. Lederman earned her Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in 2018. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2022. Subsequently, Dr. Lederman completed her internship in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2023, followed by her pediatrics residency at the same institution in 2025.

Dr. Lederman collaborates with stakeholders across sectors to design more equitable and efficient systems to serve children and their families. Her work in the health policy and advocacy space has been applied at the local, state, federal and international levels. She has given numerous invited presentations at national and international conferences, and her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and other publications.

Dr. Lederman is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
