About
Gunjan Garg, MD, is an attending radiologist at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Abdominal Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Garg’s clinical focus centers on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the liver and prostate.
After earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India in 2007, Dr. Garg completed her Doctor of Medicine nuclear medicine residency at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences in New Delhi, India in 2010. She later came to the United States to continue her medical training, completing an observership in interventional radiology at Holy Spirit Hospital in 2013, followed by a preliminary year in internal medicine at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical Center in 2014. Dr. Garg completed her residency in nuclear medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Yeshiva University in 2017, where she was Chief Resident in her final year. She then completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Yale New Haven Health – Bridgeport Hospital in 2021, where she was also Chief Resident in her final year. Following this, she completed a fellowship in abdominal radiology at the Yale School of Medicine in 2022.
Building on her clinical focus, Dr. Garg’s research focuses on multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) prostate and prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA PET/CT) in patients with prostate cancer. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and she has given several poster presentations.
Dr. Garg is board certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology. She is a member of many professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Society of Abdominal Imaging (SAR), among others.
