Lalita Gupta, MD

Lalita Gupta, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Gupta specializes in oculofacial surgery, which involves plastic and reconstructive surgery of the upper face, orbit, eyelids, and lacrimal system.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology from George Washington University in 2014, Dr. Gupta earned her Doctor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2018. She completed an internship in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System in 2019, followed by her ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in 2022, where she was appointed Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Gupta then completed an oculoplastics fellowship, accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the University of Kentucky in 2024.

Dr. Gupta's research interests build on her clinical interests and include eyelid reconstruction and orbital disease and imaging. Her commitment to advancing her field is evident in her participation in numerous presentations and contributions to research projects and peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Gupta is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
