About

Moran Slavin, MD, is a surgical oncologist at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center and Assistant Professor, Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Slavin is an expert in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery for abdominal cancers as well as benign diseases. Her primary focus is gastric and gastro-esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, bile duct and liver cancers and liver metastasis. She also provides minimally invasive surgery for the insertion of hepatic artery infusion pump (HAIP) therapy to treat colorectal liver metastasis and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences at Tel Aviv University Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2010, Dr. Slavin continued at the institution to earn her Doctor of Medicine in 2013. She completed an internship at the Tel Aviv University-affiliated Sheba Medical Center in 2015, followed by her general surgery residency at the Tel Aviv University-affiliated Meir Medical Center in 2022. Dr. Slavin then moved to the United States to continue her surgical training, completing a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive foregut and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery at AdventHealth in 2023 and a clinical fellowship in international surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2024.

Dr. Slavin’s research focuses on the impact of minimally invasive surgery on patient outcomes in oncologic and benign diseases. She also works to improve the training of surgeons in minimally invasive approaches. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, and she has presented at national and international scientific meetings.

Dr. Slavin is board certified by the Israeli Ministry of Health in Surgery. She is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) and the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA). She is fluent in Hebrew and English.
