About
Dr. Ahmed N. Alemam is a board-certified gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopist with White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, specializing in pancreatic and biliary disorders and the resection of precancerous gastrointestinal lesions.
He completed advanced fellowship training in therapeutic GI endoscopy at New York University Grossman School of Medicine / Langone Medical Center, where he trained with internationally recognized experts. He offers cutting-edge, minimally invasive endoscopic interventions that can reduce the need for surgery, shorten recovery time, and improve outcomes and quality of life.
In addition to routine endoscopy and colonoscopy, Dr. Alemam performs a comprehensive range of specialized GI procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP, as well as complex polyp and tissue resection, stent placement, and innovative endoscopic therapies, such as POEM, for the treatment of motility disorders. He is among a select group of physicians in the region offering these advanced procedures, helping patients access highly specialized care close to home.
Dr. Alemam is committed to compassionate, patient-centered care, with a strong emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making. He works closely with referring physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated and personalized care tailored to each patient.
Dr. Alemam earned his medical degree from Mansoura University in Egypt and completed his internal medicine residency and general gastroenterology fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai / BronxCare Hospital Center, where he served as both chief resident and chief fellow. He then joined NYU for advanced endoscopy training before becoming a staff physician with WPHPA.
His clinical interests include pancreatic and biliary diseases, and endoscopic therapies for motility disorders, including achalasia and gastroparesis.
He speaks English and Arabic and has working proficiency in medical Spanish.
