About
Dmitry Fridman, MD, PhD, FACOG, is Associate Program Director, Complex Benign Gynecology Fellowship at Montefiore Einstein and Clinical Assistant Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Fridman’s clinical focus centers on minimally invasive surgery, gynecologic ultrasound and the management of abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and chronic pelvic pain. He is also committed to advancing menopause management, family planning options and improving management strategies for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the Military Medical Academy in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2004, Dr. Fridman remained at this institution to complete his residency in general surgery in 2005 and his Doctor of Philosophy in biopsy diagnosis of adenomyosis in 2006. He then moved to the United States to continue his medical training, completing his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in 2011, where he served as Chief Administrative Resident until 2012. Subsequently, Dr. Fridman completed a dual-fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and gynecologic ultrasound at Montefiore Einstein in 2015.
Dr. Fridman’s research interests align with his clinical focus. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on topics such as ultrasound and advanced laparoscopic techniques, as well as cervical cancer screening. He is also a reviewer for scientific journals, including the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
Dr. Fridman is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG). He is also a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). Dr. Fridman has received multiple awards for his dedication to resident education, surgical training and patient-centered care.
