Lee P. Thompson, MD

Lee P. Thompson, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Musculoskeletal Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Thompson’s clinical focus centers on musculoskeletal radiology, including diagnostic procedures and image-guided interventions of the musculoskeletal system. He has a particular interest in bone and soft tissue tumors, musculoskeletal ultrasound and sports medicine.

After obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in 2018, Dr. Thompson completed his internal medicine internship at Griffin Hospital in 2019, followed by his diagnostic radiology residency at Albany Medical Center in 2023. In 2024, he completed his musculoskeletal imaging fellowship at Montefiore Einstein.

Dr. Thompson’s research focus is centered on imaging of bone and soft tissue tumors, as well as diagnostic and interventional applications of musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has presented at annual meetings for the Society of Thoracic Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the International Skeletal Society.

Dr. Thompson is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the American Society of Spine Radiology, among others.
