Dara Hope Cohen, MD

Dr. Dara Cohen is a board-certified endocrinologist with White Plains Hospital Physician Associates. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and a wide range of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), pituitary disease adrenal disorders.

Dr. Cohen has more than a decade of experience practicing endocrinology in Westchester. Before joining White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, she was an endocrinologist with Optum/CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, where she built and maintained a large, private endocrinology practice. She was also previously an Instructor of Medicine in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Diseases at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she provided outpatient and inpatient care and supervised fellows, residents and medical students.

Dr. Cohen earned her bachelor's degree with distinction from Cornell University and her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/Greater Los Angeles Veterans Affairs, followed by postdoctoral and clinical fellowships in Endocrinology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cohen has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and conducted research in diabetes, metabolism, obesity and other areas of endocrinology. She is a member of the Endocrine Society and is proficient in Spanish.
