Jeffrey Henstenburg, MD

Jeffrey Henstenburg, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Hensterburg’s clinical focus includes surgery for scoliosis, kyphosis, congenital scoliosis, spine deformity, spondylolisthesis and other pediatric spine conditions. In caring for patients, he utilizes leading-edge technologies and surgical approaches, including robotic spine surgery, growth respecting spine surgery, fusionless spine surgery and vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib (VEPTR).After receiving his Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology, Dr. Henstenburg attended Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. After earning his medical degree, he completed a yearlong orthopedic surgery internship at Hahnemann University Hospital before his finishing his training at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University and Nemours Children’s Hospital. He continued his postgraduate training with a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, the teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, completing it in 2024.

Dr. Henstenburg’s research interests include clinical and radiographic outcomes for pediatric spine surgery, biomechanical analysis of spine fusion constructs, sports related injuries and pediatric trauma. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, national and international podium presentations and poster presentations.

Dr. Henstenburg is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
