Joseph J. Mulvey, MD, PhD
About
Joseph Justin Mulvey, MD, PhD, is Associate Director, Hematology at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical interest lies in the intersection of coagulation and immunity. Rare disease, especially related to the immune system, is his greatest challenge and thrill in medicine.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Columbia University in 2006, Dr. Mulvey earned his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy at the Tri-Institutional MD PhD Program in 2016. He then completed his clinical residency at NewYork-Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical College in 2019, and a laboratory medicine fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2021.
Dr. Mulvey's research spans a wide range of topics, including drug and assay design, radiation delivery, nanotechnology, coagulation, microbiome and the mysteries of novel disease mechanisms. He has participated in a number of research projects and his work has been shared through numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
In 2021 and 2022, Dr. Mulvey won the Best Teaching Faculty Award in Pathology from Montefiore Einstein.
