Anand A. Kumthekar, MD

Dr. Kumthekar is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He received his medical degree from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, India and trained in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He further completed his sub-specialty training in Rheumatology at Oregon Health and Science University.

Dr. Kumthekar is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center. He is skilled in the treatment of general rheumatic illness and his clinical areas of focus include Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis,  Vasculitis, Lupus and Myositis. He runs the Spondyloarthritis clinic at Montefiore and is profecient in musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has published multiple research articles and is a reviewer/editorial board member prominent medical journals.

He has completed advanced MSK ultrasound training and is certified by the American College of Rheumatology (RhMSUS). He is a member of American College of Rheumatology, Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network (SPARTAN), Group for Research and Assessment of. Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) and Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR).
