About
Frédérique Pesant, MD, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Pesant’s clinical focus centers on providing general anesthesia and regional nerve blocks for patients undergoing surgery. In addition, she provides outpatient consultations and care for patients living with chronic cancer and non-cancer pain. She uses an evidence-based and integrative approach to pain medicine, using both interventional and non-interventional treatment modalities.
After earning her Doctor of Medicine at Laval University in Quebec City, Canada, in 2017, Dr. Pesant completed her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Sherbrooke in 2023, followed by a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Montreal in 2024. She then completed a postgraduate medical education fellowship in cancer pain management at McGill University in Montreal in 2025.
Dr. Pesant’s research aligns with her clinical focus, with a particular interest in cancer pain.
Dr. Pesant is board certified by the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
