Joseph D. Frager, MD

Joseph Frager, MD, is an Attending Physician in Gastroenterology and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Frager specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the colon and upper gastrointestinal tract including colon polyps, diverticulitis, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux and gallstones.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1980, Dr. Frager came to Montefiore for his postgraduate training. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency in 1983, followed by his fellowship in gastroenterology in 1985.

Dr. Frager’s research focus is on the immunology of the gastrointestinal tract. He has shared his work through peer-reviewed journals and abstracts.

Dr. Frager is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
